As it is the case with most Disney characters the bear with a passion for his honey became an icon of movies and cartoons. Winnie the Pooh has been a staple of Disney since its release in 1977 and the characters have become some of the favorites for kids of all ages. Winnie is probably one character that people are most attached to because of the look of a teddy bear. The marketing included that type of toys and since then people have had their Winnie the Pooh teddy bears as well as other characters like Tigger, Eeyore and Roo.
Winnie the Pooh is the main character and he is one of the most popular characters in Disney movies. There are not that many people who do not know who Winnie the Pooh is; in fact even if a person never even watched one of Pooh's TV shows or movies chances are that they know who Winnie is, and what his favorite food in the whole world is. That's right, where ever you see this cuddly bear, honey cannot be that far behind. The honey is sometimes even a character in its own right; just look at the drawings and decorations of Winnie and you will also see honey nearby.
You would not expect a popular Disney character to have a solo act. Because of that it was necessary to give Pooh his side kicks, and none is bigger than Tigger. Tigger is to Winnie the Pooh what Tinker Bell is to Peter Pan. He is the best friend that in some cases is bigger than many other characters that have their own movie. Well that is no longer a problem because Tigger got his own movie called "The Tigger Movie". Another character that is very popular from the series is Eeyore. Though not a lot of people would have bet on the donkey, he became very popular among fans.
Many parents choose to decorate using the theme of Winnie the Pooh, and that is always a great choice. Winnie the Pooh and the characters associated with the series can do two things in decoration. They give the kid a character that they are already familiar with, and if they are not yet familiar the decorations look so great in a child's room that they will want to know more about this friendly and sweet bear.
